Bruce Wayne was the son of Thomas and Martha Wayne, who were killed in an alleyway by the criminal Joe Chill after a botched robbery. Due to this, Bruce would become the vigilante known as Batman. He, at some point, would even join the Justice League.
Flashpoint Paradox[]
When Barry Allen went back in time to prevent his mother's murder, it created a rippling effect in altering certain events. In this timeline when Joe Chill attempted to rob the Waynes, it was the eight-year-old Bruce who was murdered in the alley instead of his parents. His mother held him in her arms and was driven to utter madness becoming The Joker, while his father became the Batman of that world, however unlike Bruce he’s a more brutal Batman and is willing to use lethal force.
