Kryptonians are an extraterrestrial humanoid species of beings who originate on the planet Krypton. Kryptonians are basically human in their structure and appearance, but their biology is far more advanced than that of Earth based humans.

History[]

Physiology[]

Kryptonians are visually indistinguishable from Humans. The only real differences to them are their abilities under a yellow sun or possibly blue sun/star.

Powers[]

Kryptonian Physiology: Kryptonians gain incredible superhuman abilities when exposed to yellow solar radiation: vast superhuman strength, speed, and stamina; invulnerability; flight; super breath; x-ray vision; telescopic and microscopic vision; freeze breath; heat vision; and super hearing.

  • Solar Energy Absorption: Kryptonians cells act as solar batteries that absorb different types of solar energy such as Earth's yellow sun, granting them vast superhuman abilities.
  • Superhuman Strength: Kryptonians possess incredible superhuman strength.
  • Superhuman Speed: Kryptonians are capable of flying, reacting, and running at superhuman speeds.
  • Superhuman Reflexes: Kryptonians possesses reflexes far greater than any normal human being.
  • Super-Breath: Kryptonians are able to create hurricane force winds by exhaling air from their lungs.
  • Freeze Breath: They can chill the air as it leaves his lungs to freeze targets.
  • Super-Hearing: Kryptonian hearing is sensitive enough to hear any sound at any volume or pitch.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Kryptonians are nearly indestructible, able to withstand large amounts of punishment without being injured.
  • Accelerated Healing: Kryptonians possesses a limited, but rapid healing factor which is further enhanced by exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Flight: Kryptonians have the ability to fly at high speeds by manipulating the graviton particles around their body allowing them to defy gravity
  • Heat Vision: Kryptonians can project beams of intense heat from their eyes.
  • X-Ray Vision: Kryptonians have the ability to see through solid objects with the exception of lead.
  • Microscopic Vision: This is the ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level.
  • Telescopic Vision: This is the ability to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics. Though limited, the exact extent of the ability is undetermined. In function, it is similar to the zoom lens on a camera.
  • Self-Sustenance/Underwater Breathing: Kryptonians are able to breath and speak clearly underwater without any aid.

Weaknesses[]

  • Kryptonite: Superpowered Kryptonians are vulnerable to the effects of Kryptonite, radioactive crystalline pieces of Krypton. The effects of the mineral's radiation are almost instantaneously, robbing a Kryptonian of their powers and causing them great pain. Prolonged exposure will eventually kill them. They are also susceptible to synthetic Kryptonite, which Poison Ivy exploited via a synthetic Kryptonite lipstick combined with her pheromones, enthralling Superman.
  • Magic: Kryptonian invulnerability provides no protection from magic. As a result, magic spells and magic-based weapons affect them as easily as they would a normal human,.
  • Solar Energy Dependency: Kryptonians abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing their energy reserves with yellow solar radiation, especially if they doesn't have any direct contact with yellow sunlight.
    • Red Solar Radiation: Red solar radiation replaces the higher-yield yellow solar energy in Kryptonian cells, robbing them of the fuel for their powers, rendering them mortal.
  • Lead: Though this isn’t a physical weakness, Kryptonians X-ray vision cannot penetrate lead. Ironically, lead is also used to block the radiation Kryptonite gives off.
