Task Force X (also and better known as the Suicide Squad) was a special forces black ops team created by Amanda Waller. It consists of incarcerated supervillains who act as deniable and expendable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for reduced time on their prison sentences. If enough missions are completed or at Waller's discretion, they can be released from the team indefinitely. In the Apokolips War film, the team is considered "Destroyed"

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay[]
Task Force X was founded by Amanda Waller after the rise of the so called "Meta Human Generation". Since no superhero was willing to work for the Government as not to show favoritism to any one country, Waller believed that in order to battle greater threats to the world they needed other meta human assets. She then recruited incarcerated individuals with no hope of release and using them and their unique abilities as disposable assets for the United States government. She would then offer the members reduced time off their sentences in return for their co-operation. If they were captured or tried to escape, Waller had a micro detonator placed within their necks and would detonate it they refused to comply. Once the mission was completed the members would be returned to their prison cells with more privileges than before and reduced time off their sentence or be released if the mission removed their prison sentence.
